Riho vs. Nyla Rose for the right to be crowned first ever AEW Women's Champion turned out to be one of the best matches of the Dynamite premiere, with the 22-year-old veteran (she started wrestling at 9) walking away with the win and the title.

Rose dominated much of the early going, but Riho used her quickness and superior  striking ability to wear the much larger opponent down. After a couple of exciting spots - The Native Beast missed a diving senton onto a bunch of steel chairs from the apron to the floor at one point - Riho was ultimately able to hit a running double knew-strike for the pinfall victory.

Nyla attacked the Women's Champion after the match, but Riho's trainer Kenny Omega made the save.
