After 2019, the Women of Honor World Champion is done with ROH.

It was first revealed by Joey Mercury and Kelly Klein’s husband, BJ Whitmer, that the 33-year-old had been fired from the company through email.

ROH would then issue a statement to PWInsider clarifying the situation, stating that they didn’t fire Klein; however, they did inform the WOH Champion that they wouldn’t renew her contract at the end of the year,"We don’t generally discuss personal issues but they seem to have made it public – we didn’t fire [Kelly Klein], we just notified her that we would not be renewing her contract."

This whole issue stems from the outburst Joey Mercury had on twitter recently. The former ROH producer revealed an email that showcased a negotiation with ROH COO Joe Koff, who turned down giving a pay raise to the WOH Champion that would’ve resulted in her making $24,000 a year. Klein gave permission for Mercury to share those documents and in return, Ring of Honor seems to be punishing Klein.

Klein is currently on the sidelines dealing with concussion-related issues and despite the company opting to not renew her contract, she hopes that speaking up will result in changes backstage. Check out Fightful for their exclusive look on the situation.
