RUSH finally addresses his departure from CMLL.

This past weekend should’ve been a celebratory one for RUSH, as the former Los Ingobernables leader defeated Matt Taven to become the ROH World Champion for the first time in his career; however, CMLL surprised many within the wrestling community by announcing the release of RUSH and his brother, Dragon Lee. The promotion stated that the duo had not followed programming and company guidelines.

Hours earlier, RUSH announced on social media that he was going independent thus stating his intentions on leaving the lucha libre company.

Now, the ROH World Champion dives deeper into why he ultimately left the company, stating CMLL went “downhill” after the late owner passed away and doesn’t feel like he owes the company anything anymore. RUSH says that he’s grateful for the opportunity that CMLL has given him, but at the end of the day, the ROH World Champion has more goals and challenges that he wants to accomplish inside the wrestling world.

He also touches on the subject of the company releasing his brother Dragon Lee and feels that the promotion was disrespectful towards him. He doesn’t exactly highlight how CMLL disrespected Dragon Lee, but RUSH notes that the former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion is destined for greater things despite his release from the promotion.
