At Fyter Fest, Shawn Spears shocked the wrestling community when he blasted his former friend with a chairshot to the head. Since then, the former WWE star has explained that his actions were due to the disrespect Cody showed him by calling Spears “a good hand” on the AEW roster.

These two have remained apart since that night of the incident; however, Spears came to blows with Rhodes at the Captial City Championship Combat Wrestling event on August 16 in Ottawa.

The 37-year-old first laid out MJF during the entrance way and slowly made his way to the ring as Cody seemed ready to fight his former friend. Once Spears finally entered the ring, the two immediately exchanged strikes with Rhodes getting the better of the situation.

Spears would rake the eyes and then grabbed a chair. He looked to repeat his heinous attack from Fyter Fest; however, MJF took the chair away from him and Cody got Spears in the position of Cross Rhodes. Spears would slip out and then hightailed it out of the ring.
