At Fight for the Fallen, the show opened with a wild six-man tag team match between Darby Allin, Jimmy Havoc, Joey Janela against Shawn Spears, MJF, and Sammy Guevara.
Going in, there was already some friction between MJF and the former WWE Superstar due to Spears’ heinous attack on Cody Rhodes at Fyter Fest. The early goings of that match highlighted the animosity between the tag team partners while the babyface team took advantage of the situation.
As the match-up progressed, it appeared that Jimmy Havoc was set to get the victory for his group until a heavily injured Darby Allin – who was selling a rib injury based off his bout against Cody Rhodes – tagged himself in. The former EVOLVE star showcased his fighting spirit; however, Spears took advantage of Allin’s rib injury and connected with a death valley driver for the three count.
