The two-time NEVER Openweight champion shocked New Japan Pro Wrestling fans when he defeated Jeff Cobb for the title back at Wrestling Dontaku one week ago; however, it was far from a clean victory.

Taichi was given the option to choose his next opponent and the NEVER Openweight champion chose the man who knocked him out of the second round of this year’s New Japan Cup, Tomohiro Ishii. The newly crowned NEVER Openweight champion is clearly looking to avenge his loss over the New Japan veteran, but will Taichi bite off more than he can chew, as he faces an experienced veteran who has held the NEVER Openweight title four times.

Dominion will take place on June 9 and the match card is as follows:

IWGP Heavyweight Championship Match
Kazuchika Okada (c) vs. Chris Jericho

IWGP Intercontinental Championship Match
Kota Ibushi (c) vs. Tetsuya Naito

NEVER Openweight Championship Match
Taichi (c) vs. Tomohiro Ishii
