Tetsuya Naito Defeats Jay White At WRESTLE KINGDOM To Become The New IWGP IC Champion

Tetsuya Naito has taken his first step to becoming the first wrestler in history to hold both the IWGP Intercontinental Championship and the Heavyweight Title at the same time.

"Switchblade" Jay White was convinced he was on his way to accomplishing this lofty goal, but he fell to the Los Ingobernables leader at Wrestle Kingdom 14 after a decent, if somewhat reserved encounter.

White and Gedo did their utmost to cheat their way to a win, but Naito persevered. It took three consecutive Destinos to do the job, but he was ultimately able to keep Jay down for the three-count.

Can Naito go on to defeat Okada (spoiler alert!) to capture the big one in the co-main event of Wrestle Kingdom Night 2? We wouldn't bet against it.
