In the beginning, Cobb out wrestled the IWGP Intercontinental Champion until Naito got some strikes in and a neck breaker that resulted in the bout’s first near fall. The match-up continued on as a back-and-forth contest that highlighted Jeff Cobb’s love for suplexes and Naito being... well, Naito.

After a strike exchange between Cobb and the IWGP Intercontinental Champion saw that former get the best of the encounter, Cobb attempted a Tour Of The Islands and Naito countered with Destino for a strong near fall. Naito then nailed Cobb with a second Destino that ultimately put him away for a three count.

Tetsuya Naito’s G1 Climax score is now 5-3 (10 points), whereas Jeff Cobb’s record has fallen to 3-5 (6 points).
