In the main event of night 8, IWGP Intercontinental Champion Tetsuya Naito faced off against Tomohiro Ishii.

Naito started off the tournament struggling; however, the Los Ingobernables de Japon leader was able to secure his first victory on Day 7 over Hirooki Goto. The IWGP Intercontinental Champion continues his momentum by getting a victory over the ultra-tough Ishii.

Naito targeted the head and neck of ‘The Stone Pitbull’, but the NEVER Openweight Champion brought the fight to the IWGP Intercontinental Champion. After a fun back-and-forth battle, Naito was able to connect with Destino and get the pinfall within 19 minutes.

Tetsuya Naito’s G1 Climax score is now 2-2 (4 points), whereas Tomohiro Ishii falls down to 2-2 (4 points).
