HOUSE OF TORTURE are tag team champs once again!
New Japan Pro-Wrestling held their Road to the New Beginning show on January 30th and Ren Narita, SHO, and Yujiro Takahashi challenged Hiroshi Tanahashi, Boltin Oleg, and Toru Yano for the NEVER Openweight Six-Man Tag Titles and guess what happened?
SHO low blowed Yano and got the three count because of a roll up. Now this isn’t the first time HOUSE OF TORTURE has won the NEVER Openweight Six-Man Tag Team Titles. Both SHO and Yujiro have won the belts twice before with EVIL. However, this is the first time that this incarnation of the faction has won the titles.
Yano, Tanahashi, and Oleg first beat Los Ingobernables de Japon (BUSHI, Hiromu Takahashi and Yota Tsuji) for the belts and their two title defenses were against different members of the HOUSE OF TORTURE faction.
The first HOUSE OF TORTURE reign with EVIL, SHO, and Yujiro was 241 days long. Can the powerful faction keep those titles for another lengthy period? We’ll just have to see obviously. It hasn’t been confirmed when the trio will finish defending their belts or even against whom.
Tanahashi is currently in his final full year as an active wrestler so it wouldn’t be a surprise if he opts to not go after the belts again. He’s currently scheduled for two more singles matches for the Road to the New Beginning tour.
* February 3 – Tanahashi vs. Daiki Nagai
* February 4 – Tanahashi & Katsuya Murashima vs. Shoma Kato & Togi Makab
He's also scheduled to have his final U.S. match against Konosuke Takeshita at Wind City Riot on April 11. Should Tanahashi, Yano, and Oleg go after the NEVER Openweight Six-Man Tag Team titles then we’ll make sure to let you know when and where. Meanwhile, Congratulations to HOUSE OF TORTURE for their latest title win!
