According to
Sports Illustrated, the IWGP United States Champion’s contract with the Japanese company will go through Wrestle Kingdom 14. The news isn’t much of a surprise given that the former WWE superstar himself stated that he would be able to still work New Japan shows after AEW launches on television weekly in October.
Moxley is coming off an impressive G1 Climax tournament, as the IWGP US Champion crossed paths with the likes of Tetsuya Naito, Tomohiro Ishii, and Jay White, and ultimately finished third in the annual competition. At the moment, Moxley seems headed for a blow-off match with Juice Robinson, as the former IWGP US Champion pinned the current champion clean during the G1 Climax tournament and Moxley has offered Robinson another title shot under the No Disqualification stipulation.
There’s no word on whether New Japan will use Moxley for Wrestle Kingdom 14. Only time will tell going forward.
