Ever since Billy Corgan came on board the National Wrestling Alliance, the promotion and Ring of Honor have been partnering for numerous events such as the Crockett Cup.
However, it’s been confirmed by
PWInsider that the promotion has decided to part ways with ROH. In addition, Nick Aldis will no longer defend the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship against either PCO, Brody King, Flip Gordon, or Marty Scurll at the ROH Summer Supercard event.
The split is said to be ending on good terms and the door is reportedly open for a future collaboration. Dave Lagana, who has been producing video for ROH, is said to have “finished his commitments” to the Sinclair Broadcasting-owned company last weekend.
Sources state that Corgan is looking to have NWA become a weekly stand-alone serious later on this year once he completes the current Smashing Pumpkins tour. At the moment, PCO & Brody King are the NWA Tag Team Champions. There's no word on what's going to happen with the belts, but one can assume that the ROH duo will either drop or vacate them very soon.
