The NEVER Openweight Champion successfully put the former IWGP Heavyweight Champion in his place on Day 4 of the G1 Climax.

Coming into the bout, Jay White looked to rebound from his lost over Hirooki Goto on Day 2 of the G1 Climax tournament; however, the Bullet Club leader had to deal with “The Stone Pitbull” in order to get into the win column.

White tried to outsmart Ishii with his heel antics throughout the match-up; however, Tomohiro was able to see right through the former IWGP Heavyweight Champion. In the end, the bout became a counter fest between Ishii and White, with the NEVER Openweight Champion connecting with the Brainbuster for the three count.

Tomohiro Ishii is now 2-0 in the G1 Climax, whereas Jay White’s record is 0-2.
