Coming off a victory over IWGP US Champion Jon Moxley, Toru Yano's next opponent was still no easy task. Thus far, the comedy antics of the CHAOS member have worked mostly in his favor, as he’s picked up wins over Tetsuya Naito and Jay White; however, Yano took a more serious approach towards the end of his bout against Ishii.

Yano brought a serious side that’s rarely seen and the CHOAS member took the NEVER Openweight Champion to the limit; however, the ‘Stone Pitbull’ is no stranger to a war and after connecting with a sliding lariat that only got a nearfall, the NEVER Openweight Champion put away Yano with a vertical drop brainbuster.

Tomohiro Ishii’s G1 Climax score is now 4-3 (8 points), whereas Toru Yano’s record has fallen to 3-4 (6 points).
