This week has been filled with news of wrestlers leaving various promotions; This time, its Michael Elgin and Teruaki Kanemitsu from New Japan Pro Wrestling.

The promotion released a statement on Elgin, who made his debut for the company back in the 2015 G1 Climax and officially confirmed that he was signed to the company in 2016. Elgin would go on to win the NEVER Openweight and IWGP Intercontinental title throughout his run. At the moment, there’s no word on why Elgin decided to leave.

As for Teruaki Kanemitsu, one of the promotion’s ‘Young Lions’ is officially gone as well. Teruaki suffered a serious back injury towards the end of 2016, and has yet to return to the ring, though he has made major strides to do so.

However, both NJPW and Kanemitsu have decided to depart.
