All Elite Wrestling's first PPV may have been a little rough around the edges but it's been met with widespread critical acclaim and is a good start for what looks set to be a very real rival to WWE. Now, wrestling legend Terry Funk has shared his thoughts on Double or Nothing and has two specific reasons for why he believes AEW's future is bright.

"They’re going to do something special," he said. "They got the TV deal, plus they have Jim Ross."

"Jim Ross has such compassion for the fans. That’s because this is natural for him, it’s a love, just like the love Gordon Solie had for the business. Jim is following what he loves and doing a god-damned good job. He’s the greatest announcer ever. Jim could make chicken soup from chicken s—. And these wrestlers are great. He adds quality, believability, and gives them everything they need. There is nobody else like him. He’s what they need."

It's fair to say that the ball is in AEW's court now and with all the right ingredients to succeed, there's really no reason why they can't.

The next AEW PPV is called All Out and takes place on Saturday, August 31st. The weekly show will start airing on TNT in the Fall.
