Back in April, Will Ospreay suffered a concussion in his match against Marty Scurl after he attempted to do a Spanish fly off the apron to the outside floor. As Ospreay was coming down, he slammed his head onto the edge of the ring, and was noticeably hurt afterwards.

This past weekend, Hiromu Takahashi suffered a broken neck during his IWGP Jr Heavyweight title match against Dragon Lee.

Chris Jericho appeared on Busted Open Radio to address the injury and discuss pro wrestling safety amidst the Japanese Strong Style.

“I actually had a conversation with [Will] Ospreay,” explained Jericho, “and people were saying he’s gonna be the next Dynamite Kid, and I’m like ‘dude, you don’t want to be the next Dynamite Kid and this is what people are saying about you. So, these dangerous moves that you do, that you don’t need to do, stop it. You need to be working when you’re 47 like I am.’ Now, I had my share of crazy bumps, took my share of bad bumps, but as you get older, it’s the proverbial thing.

I remember Nick Bockwinkle told me
back in like 1992, at a TV taping in Winnipeg when he was there as a color commentator, ‘you do too much’.”
