Former ROH World Television Champion Jeff Cobb Reveals That's He Exclusively Signed To A Promotion

The former ROH World Television Champion conducted an interview with Chris Van Vliet and talked about various topics regarding his wrestling career, including signing a new deal with a current promotion.

Will Jeff Cobb return to AEW?

Back in February, the former ROH World Champion made his surprise debut as Chris Jericho’s enforcer. Cobb fought Jon Moxley in his first match and though the 38-year-old lost, Cobb was well protected in his defeat.

Despite rumors about AEW offering to sign the former ROH star, Cobb never returned to the promotion and has mainly competed in New Japan Pro Wrestling since. So, does this mean that Jeff Cobb is done with All Elite Wrestling?

During his recent interview with Chris Van Vliet, the veteran confirms that he’s indeed signed with a promotion and given the fact that Cobb hasn’t been seen on AEW television, I think it’s safe to assume that AEW isn’t his new home, though Cobb never names the promotion that’s he currently signed to:

"My main thing was I wanted the company to announce it," Cobb said. "I'd rather have them do it. I think it's a better platform for them to do it as opposed to me just jumping around, 'Hey look, I signed here'! I'd rather have them announce it and then I could go on my little social media thing and do all that kind of stuff. Unfortunately, it was supposed to be around March, but then this craziness happened.

"That kind of went on the back burner, which is totally fine," He added. "I still definitely hold true to that. I would prefer the company to announce it before I say anything. That's why I've been kind of quiet, and people just assumed stuff. It was great! I love it when people just assume and tag me on Facebook, or Twitter, or something. I just kind of go with it."

Cobb also discussed Lucha Underground and the former ROH star confirms that he’s done with the promotion. Even though there’s been rumblings about a fifth season, Cobb feels that no one should hold their breath for Lucha Underground’s return:

"I got my release after Season 4," Cobb said. "As far as - because I've heard weird rumblings. I remember reading something, and somebody tagged me and saying Season 5 is coming or something. I mean, I'm not going to tell anybody to hold your breath, but don't hold your breath for that. I don't know. I haven't heard any rumblings, but last time I heard, the main writer was Chris DeJoseph and I think he went to WWE. I don't know who they would use for that. The majority of their guys are in WWE now.

"I mean, there was that partnership with AAA," he continued. "Maybe yeah, but I don't know. Me personally, that was a chapter in my book that's done. We're moving on to the next chapter."
