The 2017 Top Prospect Tournament Winner will compete in the upcoming Pure Championship tournament.
The Texas native seemed to have a bright future within the promotion when he defeated Chris LeRusso, Brian Milonas, and John Skyler to win the annual Top Prospect Tournament; however, Woods has yet to win a title within ROH.
Woods and Silas Young have come close to winning the ROH World Tag Team titles on several occasions; however, the 31-year-old has yet to actually receive a singles title opportunity. Woods has to step his game up as the ROH star will be fighting former champions such as Dalton Castle, Doug Williams, and Marty “The Villain” Scurll.
Josh Woods joins Ren Narita, Joe Hendry, Yuji Nagata, Fred Yehi, Marty “The Villain” Scurll, Tracy Williams, Slex, Alex Shelley, Mark Haskins, Jonathan Gresham, Doug Williams, and Rocky Romero for a chance to make history and become the first Pure Champion since 2006. The tournament to crown the next Ring of Honor Pure Champion begins at Pure Excellence on Friday, April 10 in Columbus and Saturday, April 11 in Pittsburgh.
