Once again, Bellator MMA continues to pull upcoming pay-per-views due to the coronavirus.

Yesterday, the promotion confirmed that Bellator 244, which was scheduled for June 6 at Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Illinois will no longer take place due to the on-going situation with the coronavirus:

“The organization will continue to monitor the situation closely and fully intends to reschedule (Bellator 244) as soon as possible,” Bellator said in a statement. “As always, the health and safety of our athletes, fans, partners and staff remains our top priority. We appreciate the understanding and patience of everyone involved during this incredibly difficult time.”

The event was scheduled to be headlined with a rematch between former UFC Lightweight Champion Ben Henderson taking on former Bellator Lightweight World Champion Michael Chandler. In their first encounter, Chandler scored the victory in an incredible back-and-forth match-up at Bellator 165.

In the co-main event, the Featherweight Grand Prix Semi-final between Darrion Caldwell and A.J. McKee was also set. At the moment, there's no word on when the event will be rescheduled. The next live show will be Bellator ES 9 with Peter Queally vs. Patricky Pitbull as the confirmed main event of the show. The pay-per-view is set for Saturday, October 3.
