The Brave Combat Federation will be crowning the first-ever flyweight champion soon.
The four-man tournament will feature former UFC fighter Jose Torres taking on Matheus Nicolau, who’s also a UFC alumni. The second match-up will be Malcolm Gordon taking on Marcel Adur. The tournament will begin on March 28; however, the finals of the tournament has yet to be confirmed.
Torres is a newcomer to Brave CF, as the flyweight is coming off a victory over Amir Albazi at Brave CF 23. While his tenure with the UFC didn’t last long, Torres is also known for his time in Titan FC where he held the flyweight and bantamweight titles. Torres currently has a professional record of 9 wins and 1 loss.
Nicolau is currently in the midst of a two-fight winning streak, as the flyweight defeated Alan Gabriel and Felipe Efrain. The 27-year-old got his start in the UFC thanks to the Ultimate Fighter: Brazil 4. Though he didn’t win the competition, he was still signed to a contract deal and won three out of his four fights in the promotion. Nicolau currently has a professional record of 15 wins, 2 losses, and 1 no contest.
Gordon is currently in the midst of a four-fight winning streak, besting Michael Jordan, Jordan Graham, James Mancini, and Yoni Sherbatov. His professional record stands at 12 wins and 3 losses. Adur is coming off a victory over Marlon Derik Pereira Delgado at Brave CF 25. The flyweight’s professional record stands at 15 wins and 5 losses.
Brave CF 35 takes place on Saturday, March 28 from a location to be announced with Cleiton Silva and Guram Kutateladze headlining.
