Tom Deblass will make his return to One Championship.
As first reported by Bloody Elbow, the former UFC middleweight has signed a multi-year deal with the Japanese promotion, though the exact details of his contract remain disclosed.
The 38-year-old started out fighting professionally in 2010 for Ring of Combat, with the middleweight beating top prospects such as Tom Velasquez (via TKO at Ring of Combat 31), Sean Salmon (via submission at Ring of Combat 35), and Randy Smith (via submission at Ring of Combat 39).
Deblass would make the transition over to the UFC in 2012; however, he failed to capture the success he had in Ring of Combat as the fighter suffered back-to-back losses against Cyrille Diabate (via unanimous decision at UFC on Fuel TV 2) and Riki Fukuda (via unanimous decision at UFC on Fuel TV 6).
Following his departure from the UFC, the middleweight jumped over to Bellator MMA and managed to get consecutive wins over Carlos Brooks (via TKO at Bellator 95) and Jason Lambert (via KO at Bellator 108). Deblass hasn’t fought since 2013 and his professional record currently stands at 9 wins and 2 losses. Deblass has yet to comment on signing with One Championship; however, his instagram feed does name the Japanese promotion in his bio.
