We officially have new IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions!

This past weekend, EVIL wasn’t the only man to win big at Dominion as Zack Sabre Jr. and Taichi managed to beat Hiroshi Tanahashi and Kota Ibushi for the prestigious belts at the pay-per-view. Coming in, Suzki-Gun had some momentum on their side as the duo successfully beat Hiroshi Tanahashi, Kota Ibushi, Yuji Nagata & Ryusuke Taguchi alongside Yoshinobu Kanemaru and El Desperado at the New Japan Cup Finals.

Surprisingly, Tanahashi and Ibushi kicked off the match by jumping both of their challengers as they made their way to the ring. The former IWGP Tag Team Champions were dominant in the beginning, double teaming Suzuki Gun and out maneuvering the duo thanks to their in-ring prowess.

The challengers managed to get the advantage by targeting the leg of Ibushi, and were able to keep him separated from his partner for a good portion of the match-up. Eventually, Tanahashi tagged in and connected with his signature moves such as sling blade, Twist N’ Shout, and even a High Fly Flow on Zack Sabre Jr.

In the end, though, Taichi got rid of Ibushi thanks to his iron claw. Both men then double teamed Tanahashi, and Sabre Jr. connected with the Zack Driver and got the three count. This is the first time that both Ibushi and Taichi have held the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team titles.
