On RAW Monday, Vince McMahon promised change with new matches and NXT call ups. Of course, this got many fans excited at the prospect of potential names in the developmental brand finally making it on the main roster.
One of the most popular wrestlers on NXT, the man formerly known as Patrick Clark, Velveteen Dream, made his voice known on Twitter following the announcement that six new stars would be called up and sounded off on his name not being one of them.
Wrestletalk.com was able to get Velveteen Dream’s tweet before it was deleted:
“It’s Not His (Vince’s) Call 2 Make. It’s URs. So let ur voice B heard . . . #CallDREAMUo@WWE Universe”
He then advised fans to “spam” WWE and NXT twitter accounts to see if the promotion really was listening to its audience. He later added:
“RAW, SmackDown, NXT, NXTUK, Sesame Street. Doesn’t matter. If UR entertaining ur entertaining. I don’t need writers and I don’t need a lot of time. A superstar should bleed through ur TV. And not when someone’s producing it. Give Me The Red Light And It’s #DREAMOn Any Night”
Later on, Dream eventually deleted his tweets and according to Dave Meltzer of the
Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the NXT superstar is definitely “in some hot water” for his social media stunt. There’s no telling how this will affect Dream on NXT or his chances on being called up to the main roster soon.
