Both Finn Balor And Kyle O'Reilly May Have Sustained Injuries During Their NXT TAKEOVER Match

Finn Balor and Kyle O'Reilly went to war last night at TakOver 31 with the NXT Championship on the line, and it looks like both men may have paid the price for delivering such a physical match...

If you saw Finn Balor vs. Kyle O'Reilly for the NXT Championship at TakeOver last night, you'll know neither man was in great shape after what turned out to be a hellacious battle. O'Reilly suffered a busted lip early on, and during the build-up to the finish, a misplaced knee cracked The Prince right in the jaw, causing blood to stream from his mouth.

Now, an update from WWE suggests that both men may have sustained legit, though hopefully not particularly serious, injuries.

O'Reilly is said to have lost a few teeth (that's probably kayfabe), while Balor was taken to hospital to scan for a possible fractured jaw. These "Injury Reports" are usually exaggerated to at least some degree, but Finn definitely appeared to be favouring his jaw last night and reliable reports indicate that the match ended prematurely because of it.

"O’Reilly has a number of broken teeth as a result of the fight with The Prince, WWE.com has learned. O’Reilly is also being evaluated for additional injuries. WWE.com can also report that Bálor has been taken to a local medical facility for CAT scans to determine if he suffered potential facial fractures in his successful title defense."

With any luck, we won't have to see yet another relinquishing of the NXT Title, but we're just going to have to wait for an official update.
