Damien Priest is the new NXT North American Champion after retrieving the vacated title in a Ladder Match at NXT TakeOver: XXX last night.

The Archer of Infamy competed against Cameron Grimes, Johnny Gargano, Velveteen Dream and Bronson Reed in what turned out to be a very exciting bout. All five participants came close to grabbing the championship at various points amid the carnage, but in the end, Priest managed to claim the prize after a tug-of-war with Gargano atop the ladder.

Priest enjoyed a brief undefeated run as a heel when he first debuted on the black and gold brand, but he lost a bit of momentum when he began feuding with Keith Lee and only really got back on track following a face turn last month. He's an excellent wrestler with a great look, so there shouldn't be too many complaints about him winning the title here.

What did you guys make of the ladder match? Do you think Priest will be a good NA Champion? Let us know in the comments.
