NXT Superstars Kairi Sane And Io Shirai Were Reportedly Considered For The Main Roster Call Ups

EC3, Lacey Evans, Lars Sullivan, Nikki Cross, and Heavy Machinery (Tucker Knight & Otis Dozovic) are all set to make their main roster debut soon. While it’s expected for Sullivan to receive a solid push upon his debut, there’s no word on what the future lies for the other five talents.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer talked about the recent groups of NXT call-ups to RAW or Smackdown Live and revealed an interesting tidbit on how Triple H views the call-ups.

He reports that Triple H does not want any of the big NXT call-ups to fail because that reflects badly on him and the NXT brand. However, the next crop of talent announced are not considered to be big names so them flopping would not really be considered a failure to NXT.

It was also reported that there were talks to call up Kairi Sane and Io Shirai to the main roster; however, many backstage officials felt that Vince would not know what to do with them and they would quickly get lost in the mix. Asuka is currently doing well on the main roster and many believe that Vince would likely only want one Japanese female star at a time.
