After weeks of running his mouth, Pat McAfee had the opportunity to back up his words when he stepped into the ring with Adam Cole at NXT TakeOver: XXX last night, and he did just that... even though he did ultimately lose the match.

Pat looked impressive right from the lock-up, and it soon became clear that he's had a lot more than just the two weeks of storyline training to prepare. The former NFL player pulled off some amazing moves - including a top rope somersault with a perfect landing - and even managed to land his punt kick. Cole kicked out, however, and that was the beginning of the end for McAfee.

The former NXT Champion took control with a Last Shot, before finishing off his opponent with a Panama Sunrise.

All in all, a great showing from Pat McAfee, who definitely has a career in the ring waiting if he wants it. Some may feel he was given a bit too much offense here, but we think a competitive match was the right call. Might have been a different story if he'd won!
