Velveteen Dream Returns On NXT; Will Face Finn Balor For A Spot In TAKEOVER Ladder Match Next Week

We haven't seen Velveteen Dream since he failed to win the NXT Championship from Adam Cole in a Backlot Brawl, but the Purple Rainmaker returned as the mystery triple-threat competitor on NXT this week.

Velveteen Dream returned as the mystery opponent for Cameron Grimes and KUSHIDA in this week's NXT TakeOver: XXX North American Championship ladder match, and while he didn't actually win, he will get another chance to qualify when he goes one-on-one with Finn Balor next week.

Grimes actually won the bout by hitting his two-footed stomp (does he have a name for that?) on KUSHIDA. This set-up Dream turning heel by laying a post-match beating on the former NJPW star, only to turn around and come face-to-face with The Prince.

We almost saw Dream vs. Balor earlier in the year before the former suffered an injury, so there should be quite a bit of hype heading into this match. Velveteen's return has resulted in some backlash, however, as he recently had some pretty serious allegations leveled against him.

Who do you think will come out on top and earn their spot in the North American Championship ladder match at TakeOver? Let us know in the comments.
