WWE Announces That The NXT Tag Team Championships Have Been Vacated By The Viking Raiders

The Superstar Shakeup had a pretty significant impact on NXT and that continues to be felt as The Viking Raiders being called up to the main roster means that the NXT Tag Team Championships have been vacated.

This morning, WWE announced that the NXT Tag Team Championships are now vacant. We expected this to happen after The War Raiders were called up to the main roster and repackaged as The Viking Experience Warriors but the way the company has handled this is a little...odd.

Apparently the titles were vacated as a result of The Forgotten Sons interfering in The Viking Raiders' recent match with The Street Profits. That saw Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch also enter the fray to take part in the four team brawl but why this would lead to the Raiders simply choosing to walk away from NXT and leave their titles behind is hard to say.

They're part of RAW now, though, and that's the non-storyline reason this has happened.

According to an official statement, "NXT General Manager William Regal is prepared to make an announcement regarding the future of the titles on next week’s episode of NXT." We'll keep you guys updated but share your thoughts in the comments section.
