The former X-Division Champion will get his chance at revenge.
To the surprise of everyone last month, Trent Seven turned heel by attacking Mike Bailey after he lost the X-Division title. Not only did he low blow his former tag team partner, but he choked him out for good measure. This was a long time partnership as the duo began teaming together at Final Resolution 2023. Bailey and Seven may have never won the TNA World Tag Team titles, but the betrayal set the course for Seven’s attitude towards the TNA roster.
That brings us to last week’s episode where Trent Seven destroyed Ace Austin in their six-man tag team match. Austin put up a good fight, but the 27-year-old was no match for the raw power and strength of Trent Seven. The former NXT UK Tag Team Champion put Austin to an end with a devastating Burning Hammer.
After that shocking defeat, Austin has an opportunity to avenge his recent loss against Seven at Final Resolution. Austin has mainly been competing in the tag team division with Chris Bey as ABC. The duo won the TNA World Tag Team titles twice this year, but since they dropped the belts to The System (Brian Meyers and Eddie Edwards) at Victory Road, the duo has struggled a bit to find their groove in the tag team division.
While beating Seven won’t solve his tag team woes, it will help build Ace Austin’s momentum going forward. Given the level of talent between these men, this should be a great match that has the chance to steal the show on Friday’s TNA Plus pay-per-view. The latest TNA show will take place at the Center Stage in Atlanta on December 13.
