Could Ace Austin be the next Impact World Champion?

The former X-Division Champion pulled a cunning move by violently attacking Trey Miguel before their scheduled match in the main event. Unfortunately, Miguel was unable to get any measure of revenge as he was deemed unfit to compete.

However, Zachary Wentz took Miguel’s place and The Rascalz member took out his anger on Austin in the early goings of the match-up. Zach’s emotions got the best of him at times, which Austin took advantage of to gain control.

Once Wentz made a fiery comeback, both men exchanged stiff shots, with Zach getting a strong two count thanks to a sweet superkick. Wentz went for the swanton, but Austin blocked the move with his knees then connected with The Fold for three count.

Austin and Blanchard have competed against one another on numerous occasions. In fact, the 23-year-old beat the third-generation star and three other men in a Ladder match at Bound For Glory to win the X-Division Championship. In a battle of champions back in February, Blanchard beat the then X-Division Champion, but only by disqualification. At the moment, there’s no confirmation on when Austin will get his world title shot.
