Cassie Lee and Jessica McKay are back! The question is, for how long?
The former TNA Knockouts Tag Team Champion shocked the wrestling world by making their return at Against All Odds. Cassie Lee and Jessica McKay made it clear that they were coming after Ash and Heather by Elegance for those prestigious belts.
According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, Cassie and Jessica signed short term deals. They penned a one-year contract, with a possible option to further the deal if both sides are happy. This is the first time that the two have stepped into a TNA ring since 2022.
Many fans remember Cassie and Jessica as Peyton Royce and Billie Kay (aka The IIconics) of WWE and NXT fame. The duo are former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions and won the belts at WrestleMania 35. They managed to keep the titles for 120 days, but their time in WWE didn’t last long after they dropped the belts.
Following their release from WWE in 2021, Lee and McKay went over to TNA/Impact and won the Knockouts Tag Team titles at Bound For Glory. The duo held the belts for 133 days; successfully defending them against Decay (Rosemary & Havok), but dropped them to The Influence (Madison Rayne & Tenille Dashwood) at Sacrifice 2022.
Both women left the company in early 2022. Lee went solo for a bit in World Series Wrestling until she took some time off from the business to focus on her personal life. McKay did the same. Lee made her official return back in March, with Jessica joining her at the Prestige Nothing To Lose show in April. The duo successfully beat Kylie Rae & Nicole Matthews.
They’re officially making their in-ring returns to TNA this Thursday.
Jessica and Cassie’s opponents have yet to be chosen however. It’s likely that a match against Ash & Heather by Elegance for the TNA Knockouts Tag Team titles will take place at Slammiversary, though nothing has been confirmed just yet.
TNA Impact! Should be interesting should as it continues under Trick Williams title reign, plus there were several other surprises that took place at Against All Odds. Stay tuned for more information should it become available.
