AEW has been signing a lot of big names recently, but will Bray Wyatt be one of them? On the one hand, the former Fiend feels like a perfect fit for the company, but Tony Khan is surely going to want to avoid scooping up too many former WWE Superstars (AEW is all about building the stars of tomorrow and no doubt saw what happened to TNA when they went down that route).
On a recent edition of the Sunday Night's Main Event podcast, Dave Meltzer was asked about Wyatt's status following his WWE release. Obviously, the name and gimmick are owned by WWE so Bray, real name Windham Rotunda, will need to completely reinvent himself from the ground up.
"I’ve heard different things," Meltzer said. "I know IMPACT is really after him, from what I understand. There’s certainly people in high places that are of the belief that he’s coming, yes."
Bryan Alvarez has also said he doesn't believe Wyatt will end up in AEW, but given the company's relationship with IMPACT we could definitely see some crossovers there. It's hard to say where the best fit for him would be, but the former WWE Superstar is a real talent and is bound to shine wherever he goes.
There are a lot of big names with non-compete clauses right now, so the pro wrestling landscape is likely to look extremely different by the time 2021 is at an end.
