Myers gets his first win in Impact Wrestling.
Several weeks ago, the former WWE Tag Team Champion answered Eddie Edwards’ Impact World title open challenge; however, Myers failed to beat the veteran for the prestigious championship. At Emergence, Myers took on former X-Division Champion Willie Mack and the 35-year-old managed to get a big over the Impact star, though it was far from a clean victory.
The match-up started out as a stalemate between the two talents, but Mack would get the advantage thanks to his speed and aerial moveset. Mack’s control didn’t last long as Myers yanked him into the ropes and aggressively beat down Mack for the middle portion of the match.
Mack made a fiery comeback after connecting with a sky high that got a strong two count. Mack continued on with various strikes and moves and came close to a three count after nailing a Samoan Drop-Moonsault combo.
Myers rebounded thanks to an enzuigiri, but got a bit too cocky by taunting him, which gave Mack the ability to strike back. After both men traded counters, Myers rolled up Mack and got the three count thanks to a hand full of tights.
This is Myers first singles win in 2020. While the former WWE superstar owns tag team victories, including winning the WrestlePro Tag Team titles with Joey Janela last week, Myers hasn't had a singles victory since a Smackdown Live event against Apollo Crews in November 2016.
