Tonight, Impact Wrestling will hold their second pay-per-view this year, Rebellion.
Ever since Homecoming in January, the landscape of the company has changed, and that all started when Johnny Impact screwed over Brian Cage in their first one-on-one encounter. The master manipulated has been getting the best of the former X-Division champion for months; however, Cage was able to get a small measure of revenge this past Friday.
With the lights on bright and the title on the line, will Cage finally defeat Johnny Impact and win his first world title? Or will the devious Impact retain his gold in some controversial manner? Let’s not forget Killer Kross, who’s tangled in this messy main event web as well.
At first, the rivalry between LAX and The Lucha Brothers started out respectful until Santana & Ortiz lost the tag team titles to Fenix & Pentagon Jr.
The feud descended into chaos and weekly brawling, as being the Impact World Tag Team titles became more important than respect and honor between the two tag teams. Impact has given both teams full reigns to do whatever they want tonight, as LAX will be challenging the Lucha Brothers in a Full Metal Mayhem match that should be filled crazy spots and memorable moments.
Ever since Tessa Blanchard dropped the Knockouts championship thanks to the assist of Gail Kim, the third-generation star has been raising hell throughout the Impact locker room; however, Blanchard didn’t expect the Impact Hall of famer to fight back and make a return to the squared circle.
After weeks of dismissing the Impact Hall of famer’s past achievements, will Gail Kim prove Tessa Blanchard wrong and put the third-generation star in her place?
Just like her husband, Taya Valkyrie has used her cunning ways to outsmart her competition recently. The Impact Knockouts champion faked a rib injury to get out of her first title match against Grace, and does Valkyrie have another plan to walk out as champion tonight? Or will Jordynne Grace win her first championship in Toronto?
For weeks, Sami Callihan has been trying to recruit X-Division champion Rich Swann; however, Callihan’s tactics have failed as the X-Division title holder has resisted joining the dangerous Ohio vs. Everything faction. With a No Disqualification stipulation tacked on, will the oVe leader violently take the one thing that Swann covets tonight? Or will Swann be able to out maneuver Callihan once again?
