Chris Bey truly proved to be the better man last night.

At Slammiversary, the Impact newcomer managed to win the X-Division Championship from veteran Willie Mack, though his win was a bit dirty. On Impact, the 33-year-old got a chance to reclaim the belt that he lost at the biggest show of the summer for Impact, and unfortunately for Mack, he failed to beat Chris Bey once again.

As expected, the two had a back-and-forth match-up that highlighted the athletic ability and speed of both men; however, Mack once again missed a six-star frog splash after clocking Bey with a devastating pop up right hand. Ultimately, Bey hit the Final Finesse (a springboard cutter) to successfully retain the X-Division title within six minutes.

This is the third time in a row that Bey has defeated Mack, with his first victory coming in a tag team match involving Johnny Swinger, Rohit Raju, and The Deaners (Cody Deaner & Cousin Jake). No signal was given on who could step up and fight Bey for the X-Division title next.

As for Mack, there was also no indication on where he’ll go from here, but we’ll surely find out the direction for both of these men in the coming weeks.
