Coming off the emotional segment with Rich Swann and Eric Young last week, the former X-Division Champion came into this bout looking for revenge after the returning Impact star injured Swann once again.

This opening match for Impact Wrestling started out intense as Mack and Young brawled backstage before the two could make their entrance. Both men eventually made their way to the ring and once the bell rang, the former TNA World Champion gained the advantage immediately.

Young’s control didn’t last long as Mack made his comeback thanks to his speed and aerial moveset. The 33-year-old seemed to be on the verge of a victory after connecting with a stunner. Instead of going for his signature six-star frog splash, Mack’s anger got the best of him and he grabbed a steel chair.

The former X-Division champion ignored the referee’s warning and wrapped the chair around Young’s Knee. Mack went onto the top rope; however, Young recovered and crotched him off the turnbuckle. The former TNA World Champion then connected with a piledriver and got a three count.
