Former WWE, WCW and ECW legend Lance Storm will be bringing his professional wrestling wisdom to IMPACT Wrestling very soon.
The Canada native has been retired from full time in-ring competition since 2004, though he does still make appearances around the indie circuit from time to time; however, Storm spends most of his time training the stars of tomorrow with his Storm Wrestling Academy.
On Friday, the former WWE star revealed on the Figure Four Daily with Bryan Alvarez that he’ll be working with IMPACT on a trial run basis as a backstage producer and agent.
His trial run will start during the March IMPACT tapings in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. He said if it works out, he’d be open to joining for the TV tapings, as the limited schedule would allow him to continue his training in Calgary. Lance Storm said the following (transcription from
lastwordonprowrestling.com):
“I am going to be doing the agent/producer role for IMPACT Wrestling in the near future. The March 22nd and 23rd tapings in Windsor, Ontario, which I think are their next tapings. Which have to be their next tapings, only a couple weeks away now, jeez. But yeah, so, March 22nd and 23rd in conjunction with Border City Wrestling, IMPACT Wrestling will be doing its TV tapings. I will be the latest and newest agent/producer. It is not a permanent position, it is a bit of a test to see if I like the job and if they like my ability to do the job.”
This would definitely be a huge get for IMPACT if the former Intercontinental champion decided to stay with the company. With the recent loss of Chris Parks (Abyss) and Sonjay Dutt as backstage producers, having a guy like Storm – who has over two decades of experience in the business – will definitely help cover the lost of the former producers.
