The former two-time X Division champion is no longer in Impact Wrestling.

Wrestlezone first confirmed the news that DJZ was no longer under contract with the promotion. The former Impact star cofirmed the reports later on:

DJZ started with Impact seven years ago under the name Zema Ion. In addition to winning the X Division championship, DJZ won the Impact Tag Team championship back in April with former Impact wrestler Andrew Everett.

Since Ion dropped the titles a short time later, he’s been mostly out of action in Impact. DJZ suffered serious injuries during the spring thus he was out of action for a while. The former X Division champion has been making rounds on the independent scene lately and has several notable bookings coming in 2019.
