It appears that Daga is officially done with Impact Wrestling.

According to Wrestling Inc., Impact officials granted the 32-year-old's request on Tuesday. The report states that Daga actually asked for his release a while ago; however, Impact opted against releasing him up until now. This isn’t much of a surprise as Daga is the husband of Tessa Blanchard, who had a nasty falling out with Impact Wrestling back in June. The article never reveals the reason Daga asked for his release.

The former Lucha Underground star made the transition over to Impact full-time in 2019 and had several title opportunities during his brief stint with the company, most notably the X-Division Ladder match at the 2019 Bound For Glory featuring Ace Austin, Jake Crist, Acey Romero, and Tessa Blanchard.

The last time that the Mexico native competed on Impact was back in March against former X-Division Champion Chris Bey. Since then, Daga has mostly competed in Mexico, though the former Impact star did fight at the Warrior Wrestling event in Chicago, which also featured Tessa Blanchard vs. Kylie Rae.

There’s no word on what his plans will be going forward. Wrestling Inc. did conduct an interview with Daga last year and he did make note about wanting to grow in America.
