Filipino wrestler Gisele Shaw, who is currently under contract with Impact, has released a statement after being subjected to some highly inappropriate and offensive remarks from WCW "legend" Rick Steiner during an autograph event at WrestleCon today.

Shaw, who recently came out as trans, claims that Steiner verbally accosted her as she was walking past, yelling, "you're a man," "you're a dude," "you're a piece of trash," "You are filth," "get the f*ck away from here."

Gisele didn't react at the time, but went back to confront him shortly after, and he reportedly shouted the same or similar things.

Not a single wrestler in attendance said anything or stepped in.

You can check out Shaw's statement in full below.

We'd like to say we were surprised by Steiner's behaviour, but there have been numerous reports of the former WCW tag-team champion's bullying and homophobic comments over the years, so this tracks.

Steiner has yet to respond, but we'll be sure to update if and when he does. We hope Gisele wasn't too shaken up by this encounter.
