When EC3 made the move to NXT, there was a lot of excitement surrounding how he could be used in the company. After all, he has pretty much everything Vince McMahon looks for in a WWE Superstar, and unlike a lot of other big guys, he happens to be great on the mic as well.
With ratings falling, WWE unexpectedly called EC3 up to the main roster with some cool video packages, but his run never really went anywhere. That's been blamed on a number of factors, though it's widely believed Vince McMahon soured on him after fans didn't boo him in a match with Dean Ambrose on RAW.
EC3 was among those released by WWE during their COVID-19 budget cuts, and it's now looking like he is indeed set to make his return to IMPACT Wrestling. The company has been teasing his arrival at Slammiversary for a while now, with his entrance music playing after Moose successfully defended his TNA World Heavyweight Championship against Hernandez.
During a recent Facebook Live video, EC3 told fans, "July 18th. July 18th is a great day for a fight. I will fight July 18th." He noted that Slammiversary is "probably gonna be a great show," and asked about his future, added: "I’m going to go wherever my heart takes me, wherever a fight arises that I need to fight ’em."
Needless to say, it will be well worth keeping an eye on this show come July 18th!
