It’s being reported that Killer Kross has requested his release from Impact Wrestling, which stems from a financial standpoint as Kross feels that his stock is worth more than what the company is currently paying him.
While Kross is reportedly not too fond of his creative direction as well, the Impact star is mostly unhappy with his current pay as he signed a multi-year per date deal last year that does not guarantee dates. Sources say that Kross asked for a raise, looking for a six-figure guarantee.
Management did come back to Kross with a new three-year deal but the offer was said to be well below what the Impact star was looking for, so he turned it down and requested his release from the promotion. It’s believed that Impact won’t be granting Kross his request as he still has several more years on the contract he signed in 2018.
It’s been noted that New Japan Pro Wrestling and WWE were both interested in the Impact talent previously, so it’s more than likely that Kross would’ve signed with a big-name promotion, though that’s just pure speculation as there isn’t word on where Kross would’ve signed had he been granted his release.
Although Kross was not granted his request,
PWInsider notes that the relationship between both sides remains professional and that Kross is expected to be at Impact’s June TV tapings in New York.
