Sunday night was a huge change in direction for Impact Wrestling as Pentagon Jr. won the Impact World title.

The Redemption PPV main event changed when Alberto El Patron was released from Impact after he no-showed the Impact vs Lucha Underground event over WrestleMania weekend.

According to PWInsider.con, original plans for the Impact Redemption main event called for El Patron to defeat Austin Aries for the Impact World Title, but after El Patron was fired and Pentagon and Fenix were added to the PPV main event, the decision was made to have Pentagon become the new champion.
