So, madness ensued during the final segment of Impact Wrestling last night.
Sami Callihan and Ken Shamrock finally had their long-awaited contract signing and the segment hit the normal beats that viewers would expect. The former Impact World Champion continued to hammer home the point that he was sick and tired of the past coming in and trying to steal the spotlight from young talents.
Despite Callihan’s best efforts, Shamrock remained cool until his family was brought up. Then, the segment turned weird. The 32-year-old disappeared from the ring just as the Impact Hall of Fame inductee was getting ready to attack him; however, minions with Hacker faces surrounded the ring.
After several minutes, Shamrock chases one of the minions to the back and the brief game of cat-and-mouse ended with the 56-year-old trapped in his vehicle. The Hacker minions then proceeded to try and tip over the truck as the show went off the air.
This was indeed a wild segment that highlighted Sami’s new faction (?) and his overall Hacker gimmick. The jury is still out on Callihan and the OVE faction. Several weeks ago, The Christ Brothers (Jake and Dave Christ), and Madman Fulton briefly interacted with their leader before he disappeared from the ring due to his hacking ability. Impact officials confirmed that Ken Shamrock vs. Sami Callihan will headline night one of the two-night Rebellion special.
