Matt and Jeff Hardy are in the midst of a renaissance in TNA.
After a lackluster stint in AEW, the former WWE Tag Team Champions went back to TNA and are enjoying some success in their latest stint. That success resulted in a shot for the TNA World Tag Team Championships at Bound For Glory.
The System (Eddie Edwards and Brian Myers) and ABC (Ace Austin and Chris Bey) put up a valiant effort in the Full Metal Mayhem match, which was non-stop action from beginning to end. However, The Hardys became the new TNA World Tag Team Champions when Jeff grabbed the titles after he eliminated Eddie Edwards.
This is the third time that The Hardys have won the World Tag Team titles in TNA. Could this run end up being short? The former champs decided to cash in on their rematch and will challenge Matt and Jeff to regain those respective belts on this Thursday’s episode of TNA.
While Brian Meyers and Eddie Edwards aren’t as decorated of a tag team as the Hardys, both men have spent most of their careers in a tag team. Eddie Edwards is mostly known for his time with Davey Richards as the American Wolves, who won the belts on five different occasions.
Meyers is mainly known for his tag team with Zack Ryder aka Matt Cordona, who have won the tag team belts on several occassions. The System has had a big year since forming back in January. Meyers and Edwards will surely give Matt and Jeff a run for their money, but the question is: Will that be enough to recapture those prestigious belts for the third time? We’ll find out Thursday! TNA Impact! is shaping up to be a really good show on paper.
