The future of the Impact World Championship has been decided.
Last night, Scott D’Amore addressed the current state of the world title picture. As many of you know by now, Tessa Blanchard has been unable to attend the latest television tapings due to a travel ban in Mexico. In the meantime, Ace Austin won the right to challenge the third-generation star for the belt sometime soon.
However, it appears that the eight-man #1 contender’s tournament didn’t mean much for the former X-Division Champion as D’Amore announced that Tessa Blanchard will defend her belt against Michael Elgin, Trey Miguel, Ace Austin, and Eddie Edwards.
Each man got a chance to plead their case and D’Amore settled it by making a multi-man match for the Impact World Championship at Slammiversary. The segment ended with the four challengers getting into a wild brawl. This will be the first time that Tessa Blanchard defends the Impact World Championship since her match against Taya Valkyrie back on February 8th.
There is still a chance that Blanchard could miss the Slammiversary pay-per-view as there’s no guarantee that the ban won't be extended past June 22. Thus far, the Impact World title match is the only bout confirmed for the big summer show.
