The main event of Slammiversary is official! Brian Cage will defend the Impact World Championship against Michael Elgin.

The former ROH World Champion has been making a statement ever since stepping into Impact Wrestling at Rebellion. After “The Machine” finally put an end to Johnny Impact’s title reign, Elgin surprised the wrestling community by walking out and confronting the newly crowned World Champion.

The 32-year-old would end up leaving the champion laying with an Elgin Bomb, making a statement that he was coming for the Impact World title. The Canada native defeated former World Champions Johnny Impact & Pentagon Jr. to become the next challenger for the company’s top title. It was confirmed during last night’s episode of Impact that Elgin and Cage would go one-on-one at the fifteenth anniversary of the summer pay-per-view.
