The North are the Impact Tag Team Champions again!
Before the match began, Shelley was taken out of the bout thanks to Josh Alexander, who nailed a nasty double underhook piledriver on the stage. According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, Shelley had a neck injury going into the contest and this was Impact's way of writing him out of the match.
Sabin fought alone in the four-way contest and as expected, the bout was chaotic. The end came down to The North vs. The Good Brothers after Sabin and Ace Austin & Madman Fulton were briefly eliminated from the equation. Anderson was left standing after Gallows was taken out by Austin.
The former WWE superstar came close to a three count by rolling up Alexander; however, Page blasted him on the head with the tag team title belt and Alexander got the pinfall here. This is the second championship reign for The North, who’s already coming off a lengthy 380-day title reign.
As far as Alex Shelley is concerned, there’s no word yet on long he’ll be out of action. Reportedly, the 37-year-old was working without a contract, though there was no news on him and Sabin leaving the company anytime soon. We’ll continue to follow this story as it develops.
